Prof. Dr. Helmut Krcmar holds the chair of business informatics at Technische Universität München.
After studying economics at the Universität des Saarlandes Krcmar was at the institute of economic computer science at Universität des Saarlandes in August-Wilhelm Scheer 1978-1984. From 1987 to 2002 he held the chair of computer science at the Institute of Business Administration at the University of Hohenheim. At 32 Krcmar was the youngest professor of business administration (C-4) in the Federal Republic.
In 1995 Krcmar founded the information technology and management consulting mbH, based in Stuttgart.
Krcmar’s particularly concern in research is information management, knowledge management, management of IT-based services, the e-government, and the computer support for cooperative work (CSCW).
He teaches at the Center for Digital Technology and Management.
Since 2010 he is member of the board of the Open Source Business Alliance.
