Florian Fischer (Dipl.-Geogr.) studied Urban Geography, Transport Science and Geoinformatics at the LMU and TUM in München (DE) and Utrecht University (NL). Currently he is researcher at the Institute for Geographic Information Science of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW-GIScience) in Salzburg, lecturer at the University of Salzburg, and contributing editor for the Magazine Geoinformatics. He does a doctorate on “Why we do geo-tagging? On the interdependences of social location services and urban space”. His research interests are on the digitial city, networked mobilities, consumption and urban public space, and the use of locative media for search, sharing, gaming.
