Richard Rogers, PhD is University Professor and holds the Chair in New Media and Digital Culture at the University of Amsterdam. He is director of the Govcom.org Foundation, responsible for the well-known Issue Crawler network analysis software and other info-analytical tools, and director of the Digital Methods Initiative, reworking method for Internet research. He is author of Technological Landscapes (London: RCA, 1999), editor of Preferred Placement: Knowledge Politics on the Web (Maastricht: Jan van Eyck Editions, 2000) and author of Information Politics on the Web (Cambridge, MA: MIT Press, 2004), awarded the 2005 best book of the year award by the American Society for Information Science and Technology. He is most recently author of The End of the Virtual (Amsterdam University Press, 2009), and Digital Methods (MIT Press, forthcoming).
